Step # 1 - download file
Step # 2 - unzip the RAR file
Step # 3 - run the add-on installer on the unzipped VPK file
Step # 4 - confirm successful install with "OK
Step # 5 ***IMPORTANT*** - YOU MUST MANUALLY EXTRACT THE ))CONTENTS(( OF THE HL2 FOLDER
- open the VPK file with GCF Scape
- if you do not have this program, Google "GCF Scape Nem's Tools" - download and install the latest version
- when you have the VPK opened with GCF Scape, go into the hl2 folder - you will find two folders "materials" and "models"
- extract these two folders one at a time to the hl2 folder in common/left 4 dead/ in your game folders.
***FAILURE TO EMPLACE THE TWO FOLDERS FROM THE HL2 FOLDER ON THE VPK WILL RESULT IN ERRORS IN-GAME AND POSSIBLY IT WILL CRASH YOUR GAME.
***DO NOT MODIFY, MOVE OR DELETE ANY FOLDERS IN YOUR PRIMARY GAME FILES FOLDERS.

This is map #1 of a five map campaign designed by uberkirsche based upon Resident Evil Extinction,
with a small opening extract from Apocalypse.

Added to original map;
Firehall, 2nd floor & roof to crackhouse, Overpass with utility bunker, Hotel interior, back alleys, Underpass, contruction site, surrounding city buildings, railyard, warehouse, underground rail tunnel, extensive specials-only areas, extended office 5X with complete vent system inter-connecting many other specials-only areas. Map is 4-5 times bigger than original posted by crackshot(Fox McCloud/Starfox). All additions and changes, optimization and navigation mesh by uberkirsche.
Map is versus ready, with pre-optimized areas for campaign play or player controlled special-infected.
Large VPK size is due to pre-seed of ported models & model textures (as well as many custom textures) which will encompass much of the materials needed to complete the campaign.

this is a collaborative effort loosley based on RE Extinction with a small excerpt from Apocalypse. Survivors start in a ruined city-scape, then move into the desert with the Finale in an underground complex. Many realtime events will thrill throughout.
UPDATE - there will be 6 maps for the campaign now. Check out my survival map Low Road to Hell which is excerpted from the third map of this campaign. I decided to make the bridge/underpass a stand-alone map - although it is a short map it is intense and acts as a nice intermediary step which helps with the layout for the map making process by separating it from the rest of the area of the map it was originally to be a part of.

keep up the great work m-a-s-t-e-r uberkirsche so if ur wondering why i call u that is because if anyone make campaign from res or silent hill games or any other horror games r m-a-s-t-e-r at it so keep up the great work.
yeah they are coming. The 2nd map is about 80% done and I have another mapper helping with some prefab areas for a total of three mappers. All will have my touches to be as crisp as this one. It won't be re-released again until the third map is in beta, make it worth everyone's time to DL the big file. The third map is already about 25% done as I had to make some of the starting area for it available in the end of the 2nd map. Makes me wish I had started this in another source game 6 months earlier.
