Version 4.1 ("Beta v1.0")


This version fixes the below issues that were with the last release. I've also updated the posters name positions to actually be correct instead of using the default positions (see below credits). There isn't much planned for the next release besides additional L4D style decoration, making sure all weak spots are eliminated, and whatever else that may come up.

Next to be released for Dust 2 is a Versus version since it is highly requested. I have several plans and ideas for the map to try an provide a fun versus version. The hardest challenge really is to make it so the campaign side required won't be short, provide multiple panic events, and attempt to balance everything out for the better of the game-play.

Known Issues
------------
1) Breakable ceiling/'short-A' bridge; Survivors can't jump down the hole once it has been broken by the infected. I accidentally had the rest of that section visgroup hidden when I compiled.

2) Three clips aren't smooth with ledges. I had did the clips quickly with a lot of copy and pasting, so I forgot those few when I went around editing the rest to be smooth with what they were clipping.



These issues are already fixed and are currently being packed for download. I apologize for these mistakes, I should have checked carefully before releasing, but that's how things go late at night and in a rush.

Version 4.0 Released (Entitled "Beta v1.0")



Issues Fixed
------------
1) All known displacement errors/mistakes are now fixed. A window was also slightly displaced from the wall enabling a player to look through the wall, which is a known map error in Counter-Strike.
2) Major clipping is with this release but may require additional clipping in areas I don't know about in which zombies get stuck.
3) Added a breakable ceiling above Counter-Strike spawn as an attempt to make the area harder to beat. I also placed a car in the area, as well as, moved the ammo over to B side.



Additional Fixes
----------------
1) Added more spawning areas for the zombies to make some corners harder to beat.
2) Added more room/length for the zombies to get to the survivors quicker.
3) Added additional areas for the zombies to climb other buildings to help with number 2.
4) Clipped the palett of ammunition so you just don't walk through it.
5) Fixed a glitch by being able to go to B side and make your way on top of the wall, which enabled the player to walk in various areas which often glitched out the zombies.



The major focus besides the mistakes and the one glitch was mainly on making the map harder to beat. Three known weak spots were Counter-Strike spawn, far left corner of A, and the wall next to the pitt area. I believe those areas are fixed but it could have made additional weak spots. More major testing needs to be done in order to varify if these areas and the rest of the map are harder to beat with four players.

2) Zombies get stuck in some areas, mainly on sloped displacements with sloped walls/ledges. Proper clipping still needs to be done and will be available on next release which will fix these issues.

3) Counter-Terrorist spawn area is still too easy to beat and I will attempt to fix this by next release as well (only idea at the moment is to allow the infected or tank break through the ceiling/'short A' bridge).



First two issues will be fixed by next release, however the third issue will be privately tested, and ensured that it actually helps aid in a harder difficulty level in that area before releasing publicly.

excellente maps en mode survie
à tester obligatoirement

les attaques combinés de 2 smookers, 2 hunters et 2 boomers
lors de l'arrivé d'un tank en fait une maps particulièrement difficile

l'environnement est mortel
ca me rappelle le jeu counter strike

l'idéal est de se positionner entre les deux portes entre-ouverte
en récupérant le 8 jerricans de la maps
attention de ne pas tirer sur les jerricans de coté!!!!

Thanks for the comments guys. I haven't been able to pay attention to L4D maps for a while due to creating my own game using the unreal engine 3. I wouldn't mind making this a side hobby but at the moment I couldn't. Besides, at this point I might as well move on to L4D2.

Thanks for playing guys. Eventually I'll be able to update this again including a versus version. With L4D2 upcoming mutation it would be a nice map for "Versus Survival," or "Survival Versus," however they named it.
