  • Pros:

    - nicely done recreation of the real Disneyland, lots of new models
    - fun and well executed ideas like a usable ride
    - interesting finale

    Cons:

    - no challenge at all, rather boring gameplay
    - visual quality is often lacking
    - finding your way around the maps can be difficult at times

    Conclusion:

This campaign is hard to rate. If you've ever been to Disneyland when you were a child the nostalgic feelings alone will probably be enough to give it a 10. Personally I've never been there (I'm from Europe so it would take a lot of effort to get there), but I googled pictures of the real Disneyland and the author obviously put a lot of effort into recreating as many of the buildings and attractions as possible. But that's not the only thing that is good about this campaign, there are also fun ideas like a ride you can actually use and a finale that is not just a copy of the original L4D2 finales.

Unfortunately there are also bad things to say about the campaign. First of all there is the lack of challenge. You can walk through the map, shoot a few zombies left and right and you'll never get hurt since there aren't enough zombies. Additionally there are only very few horde events (and no random horde events as far as I could see) and even those are very easy to master. This is by far the easiest map I've ever played for sure, the only difficulty setting worth playing is expert, which is similar to normal in other campaigns. Then there is the graphics quality. The overall attention to detail is great, but the textures and models often look flat and blocky. Don't get me wrong, it is still quite the achievement to create so many models that look close to their original counterparts. But the quality often isn't the best, even by L4D2 standards. Finally it can be quite difficult to find the correct path to proceed. The maps are pretty large and often you have to enter a small door that is hard to spot to exit an area when there are lots of attractions with huge entrances around you (which would be the more obvious path, but almost always turn out to be dead ends).

It's definitely worth a playthrough, and certainly a no-brainer if you've been to the real Disneyland already. But in its current state the gameplay of the campaign is quite boring and I wouldn't want to play it very often (and only on expert difficulty). I will come back and give the campaign a better rating if the author improves the gameplay.

    Weapon Sounds Bass Boost

I thought the weapon sounds in L4D2 sounded a bit flat and I couldn't find an alternative that I really liked. That's why I made this simple mod. I adjusted the original sounds so they have more bass and sound more powerful/forceful. Ove...
