When I first played this map, I literally played on the same map, same server, not leaving my chair for 3 hours. I loved it. I came back awhile later and played it some more; then again; then again. What eventually happened was that I got bored of playing it with only four people. Yes, it is an epic map. But when four people are running around a map that could hold 16 people, it kind of ruins a certain aspect of it. What I do recommend is if you put this on your server, make sure you have 8 or 16 people that are able to play it. This kind of survival map should have that many people. If not, then it might be fun for a few hours, but it gets slightly boring after that.

- Lots of ammo stashes, weapons, molotovs, pipes, gas cans, etc.
- Multiple starting switches.

- Horrible lag everytime. (Then again, I do play on a laptop.)
- Common infected get stuck at certain point.
- Almost too big.
- Can be too easy/ hard.
- No outline at the starting switch, only an arrow.

I almost never play survival, ever, and this makes me want to play survival. So I think it's safe to say that this is probably the greatest survival map you will ever find. All it needs is to have a few problems fixed here and there, but it's nothing that's too annoying.

You can stay in the starting area with the minigun and 3 bots and easily get to 15 minutes
I soloed it and couldnt get to the wall with the miniguns after calling the horde,so if u could stick a starting on the wall it would be appreciated.

Awesome, a must have for anyone who watched the lord of the rings trilogy. The cons are all minor, get this map.

If you are a Survival nut, love Lord of the Rings, and have always wanted to blow that big horn, this map is for you. If you like being able to have a nice BIG open space to tackle those pesky tanks, this map is for you. If you don't like the Survival mode, move on; this map isn't for you.

The environment is very believable.

Once you're in the castle, you can hold out for as long as you want.
Tank music overlaps custom music

I probably spent over 5 hours with my friends messing about in this map, but we never played legit.
Mostly because we had 150 zombies coming at us.
There arent any escape routes once you get to the tower, so I guess its like a final stand. Pretty cool in its own way.
The tank spawns and witch spawns are very annoying, though. If they are fortced, I'd recommend turning them off. Sometimes, you just want to see a gigantic zombie horde rushing towards your castle's gates. :)

I found the very first area the best place to stay for the full 10 minutes - didn't feel the need to explore (and therefore appreciate the full mapping qualities)

A brilliantly mapped level. Only downfall i personally found was that the beginning area + the tower was enough to last the full 10 minutes with just myself and the 3 other bots. I didn't feel the need to use any other area of the map during the survival. This was just me though, I'm sure others have utilised the whole of the map..

the top tower has a glitch where the zombies cant come up to get you So that pretty much makes the map boring to play after sitting up there for 12 or more minutes.

This map is on my top ten of survival maps list around number 3 so i would defenetly recomend it for every one who plays l4d on the computer. I just wish it could now be made into a campain.

You know, if you dont play this map, then you miss something reaaaally big. This map was an .. adventure (or something like that) to play! It was so epic! And so fun!
This map is the best I have ever played, you must play it.

+ Great replication.
+ Very epic, especially at the beginning, where you're holding the wall and flames are spreading everywhere.
+ Very fun map to setup and play.

- There's an annoying flash that will happen to almost all the textures when you're outside, but it doesn't detract from the action.
- It's way to easy, I've gotten gold on it multiple times, and I stink at survival.
- The stairs to the top of the tower are fun, but only special infected and Tanks will be able to climb up, and they're slow while doing so.
- The hoards have some problems finding you/spawning the farther you get into the map.
- For some odd reason, there will be a ton of witches that spawn at the back of the map, all in one spot, but there's no reason for them to be there.

Greatly fun map, definitely going to keep this one.
If a few bugs were fixed, this could be one of the best maps of all time.
