Pros:

hilarious to explore because it has all these cons v

Cons:

horrible leveldesign and oversights everywhere, including missing textures, spots you can jump out of bounds at and whatnot. Hell, me and my friends ended out of bounds on accident while playing, spending a good 10 minutes running around until we found wherever we were supposed to be going. Also huge skippable areas and retarded mapdesign. Are you the same guy who made "Crossing Over"?

Conclusion:

Bad enough to be good again in terms of fun exploring all the mishaps.

Makes me laugh that this kind of map gets a rough 80 vote-wise, l4dmaps' standards are pretty much in the shitter

Pros:

-it's not bad, contains some details in a map that can be overlooked through first run of map
-the first map was well done, and then it felt that the author got bored halfway through.
-finale was good, although confusing in where to go.

Cons:

-toronto is one of the most boring cities ever. (according to this map)
-rough edges in tower
-how do i tell that this map was in toronto and not some American city?
-not very realistic or believable map
-confusing to navigate at some parts, elevators and switches do weird stuff.

Conclusion:

This is a solid map that needs a tune-up to reach a 'great' status.

Pros:

Very varied environnement

Very fun to play

Nice ending

CANADA FTW! (lol)

Cons:

Some areas are really confusing, and zombies spawn in places i cannot reach (sometimes)

In the port level, i got pulled under a boat by a smoker... thats also an exemple of the other cons.

Conclusion:

This campaign is really fun, but sometimes very confusing. Im sure i would enjoy playing through it with my friends.

In short, AWESOME CAMPAIGN!

Pros:

Nice design
Wide areas to play
Some creative ideas like the jukebox and the part in shallow water
Fun to play gameplay-wise

Cons:

Most of the custom text on the walls and floors stands out and looks out of place
Rough skybox
A lot of graphical glitches (see through improperly aligned parts of objects, misaligned textures, etc...)
Clutter and detail in the wide exterior areas and some of the interiors is poor

Conclusion:

Considering the gameplay only, this is a very solid map. But when you find yourself in a parking lot with less than 10 vehicles and square anonymous buildings all around, it really kills the mood. Detailing huge areas like these takes obviously a lot of time, and the author clearly rushed it. Not a gigantic flaw, but it eats some of those points that would have made this an epic map. Still recommended for fun.

Pros:

Not to overwhelming, loved the Dance Club, lol wanted to stay and listen to the whole song. Good campaign and decent to get threw

Cons:

3 tanks just in the first level I thought was a bit much, avoiding witches was almost impossible. the second level was kinda weird because of the floor that seemed to be made of chicken wire and I- beams a little overdone when it came to the amount of stairs you included

Conclusion:

Not to bad, would have to give this campaign a high C to low B average

Pros:

Lack of good gameplay. I can forgive any map for lack of design or detail but the gameplay itself is weak.

Conclusion:

I have to broadly disagree. Escape from Toronto may have a few interesting ideas and concepts but on the whole this campaign is quite disappointing. The author was clearly rushing to somehow get all maps done instead of taking his time to do even 2-3 maps really well.

I imagine that many of the good ratings come from the author's friends and parents, etc. To me an official valve map is worth about a 90-95. So I expect any map rated at 80+ to be pretty darn good, at LEAST in terms of game play, if not in terms of overall or specific design.

A bunch of us played Toronto together on Advanced and found it very lacking. We just didn't feel that it had good flow, good gameplay or decent design. it really felt like a "solid 1st effort" from someone whose ambitions exceed their ability.

I would encourage the author to put a lot more work into improving gameplay, if he wants this map to be at least playable. Right now it isn't. We were all commenting by map 3, "why are we still paying this"? But we persisted to see what was done to it later on.

This won't be a campaign with any replay value as it stands now. Sorry but Toronto is perhaps a 60 or 65, until a lot more work is put into it.
