had it to extend and enlarge the map of the game is playing it would be an extraordinary feeling. despite this i think this map is excellent.

Boss fight
Very challenging (Even on normal) Im not giving out our tactics to beat him im sure you will figure out a way to beat him without cheating.
The town
Small (Im sure that was the plan) If you blow up the gas station some of the parts just float in midair
The Witch
Scary. She pops out of nowhere (More scary scenes) I remember my first time it was like this
Go over there see what happens. Ok. WOAH! What was that!.The witch.Creepy

Cool. Was that a witch in a cloak? I hope it is thats was i think it is...

-lots- of 'errors' through out game play

Very good!
Need to iron out some of the bugs, but still overall very fun & kinda creepy.

- Finding glyphs is fun
- Awesome boss
- Love those weird moments when the witch appears (it even scared me once)

- Bots fail too much in this map

A great map, and greatest boss I've seen in L4D.

PLAY THIS WITH FRIENDS. There is absolutely no possible way to beat the boss alone. (Unless you cheat, that is.)
I love how the glyphs can be in seperate places, and how they reset themselves every time.
-Get this map, I play it whenever I can. Very fun, it never gets boring.- I give you 80. I think it could be better, but nicely done.

First Impressions
Perhaps something wasn't working correctly when I played through this map but after an impressive intro I was left to wander the town without a clear idea as to where i was supposed to go or what I was supposed to do. According to the brief I'm supposed to be looking for glyphs. When I found a glyph nothing seemed to happen. I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do with them once I found them.

Layout
The town is nicely built and the buildings are convincing. The roads are a little too wide I think. Due to the nature of the map style there isn't a set path to follow. There are multiple paths through the level and it's up to the players to work how to move through the map. This sort of works except you find yourself reaching a dead end and then not realy knowing where to go from here. At one point I reached an upturned truck under an impressivly built freeway bridge. There was a chaingun set up and supplies but I couldn't work out their purpose. No panic event occured or finale. All a bit odd.

Scripting, models etc..
This is top class. At one point I turned a corner to see a witch sitting on the roof of a car. Trying to be careful I approached slowley when suddenly she stands up and hammers down on the roof setting off the car alarm. Then she vanishes. Amazingly cool! More of this please!

Overall I give this a 65. It's a well put together environment and it's clear that a lot of work has gone into it. Unfortunatly it's undermined by the sheer confusion as to what you need to do and how go about doing it.
Add these elements and it will be a fully enjoyable experience I'm sure!

Finding glyphs isn't a boring work since they location are random

I guess if the witch kills you and she runs away, you can't find her glyph because this happened once to me and we couldn't find the final glyph

Great map. Worth downloading and playing

- a neat take on a map/campaign
-sound/event triggers that I haven't seen before
-cool ending fight
-creative concept
-layout was pretty interesting
-play through changes with each play (I think?)

- many tricky areas that seemed like ways to go but turned out to be invisible walls
- glyphs can be hard find
-so areas where dead giveaways to where you took them from (restaurant and gas station from no mercy, etc)

(WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD)
First time I played through was pretty cool. This area where you go down stairs near the road was kinda simple. Just a room with bodies on the ceiling and a bathroom with a glyph. down the alley way a witch was on the car and all it did was suddenly attack the car alerting the horde. Pretty cool. After looking in vain for the 5th glyph I died and had to restart. The first place I went was the area down the stairs near the street. HOLY FREAKING CRAP was i not ready for what happened. Completely different layout with witch trigger events. It was then I realized why this map is called Silent Fear. a combo of Sillent Hill and F.E.A.R. VERY CLEVER. I die again and played through but nothing really changed on the third time. Not sure if I missed something on the third go. But I had quit any way.

All I can say is this THE BEST map/campaign I've played on L4D Ever. I Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

+Finding glyphs is fun.
+The map's size is perfect: not too big, and it's easy to remember where most things are especially if you memorize the four main street names.
+The random roar freaked my friends and I out several times, and the crazy sh** we found that blew our minds was amazing.
+Perfect atmosphere.

-On one occasion, my group could not find the final glyph. We checked where we'd seen it before, nothing. Eventually I committed suicide so I could fly around the map, and I did, for ten minutes, and I saw nothing, even checking where the Glyphs had been before. Maybe we fail, but I *did* see some neat stuff when I checked for hidden rooms.
-Bots are almost unusable. Acceptable though, because I never play alone or without all four characters player'd.
-I saw a Hunter just sit in the corner of a building for the whole game. I didn't shoot him, he never saw us. Not sure why, and I wasn't demoing at the time. :/
-Why can't I open the door to the trippy rooms? :(
-Boss is hard as hell, and I fully support adding a safe room to the next level so we don't have to start all the way over.

This is ALREADY fantastic and my favorite custom map, and with some fixes and tweaks it could be the BEST map. Original and creative use of the Source engine. Will get 100 when I see the boss as his own level and I can get into the sideways/trippy rooms.

-inventive glyph hunt idea

-environments are very well done. The limited view makes it harder to find glyphs.

-The boss fight at the end was amazing considering it was done in L4D.

-Although the idea of finding glyphs was interesting, it can get boring after a while.

Silent fear did things that I didn't think were even possible in L4D. Definitely download if you haven't yet.
